Flowing Equines – 7 Horses of The Sun Neerajj Mittra, New Delhi, India

Rig Veda [1.35] describes the Celestial chariot of the Sun

आ कृष्णेन् रजसा वर्तमानो निवेशयन्न अमृतं मर्त्यं च ।
हिरण्ययेन सविता रथेना देवो याति भुवनानि पश्यन ॥

Throughout the dusky firmament advancing,
Laying to rest the immortal and the mortal,
Borne in his golden chariot he cometh,
Savitar, God who looks on every creature.
Music : Kabir Dev Mittra

Drenched in Festive spirits my MUSE saddled me up and galloped beyond the horizon showing its SPIRITUAL reflections. I stood stupefied at My Muse all glorious and pride revealed that,

HORSE is the one who carries GOD SUN -THE CREATOR OF LIFE.

Reveling in the revelation I picked up my COLOURS and this time EPOXY for I wanted to EMBOSS forever on my PAPER the legend of SEVEN HORSES of THE SUN.

My Muse and ME trotted and explored the VEDAS and SHASTRAS in INDIA – THE LAND of DIVINE.  With the hues of YELLOW I painted the soul power of the SUN – Its HORSES SEVEN. With the hues of BLUE I painted the divinity of SUNLIGHT which LIGHTS OUR LIVES.

In Hindu mythology SUN also called SURYA is worshiped with great reverence as it is the SUN who SUSTAINS LIFE.

Vedic texts mention Seven horses of Surya or THE SUN GOD who are named as – Gayatri, Brhati, Usnik, Jagati, Tristup, Anustup and Pankti.
The Rig Veda [1.164.1-5] says:
A seven-named horse draws the three naved wheel,
Seven steeds draw the seven-wheeled chariot,
Wise poets have spun a seven-strand tale,
And glorified this Heavenly calf, the Sun.
Sun is the source of light and that is white light .

The SEVEN HORSE of the SUN are the seven colors of the sun light which gives us warmth, sustain our lives and balance our solar system.

The seventh horse of the sun is the youngest; he moves perpetually towards the future, towards light.

Man thus and always will constantly be drawn towards love and light

Basking into the light of THE SUN white and pristine

I stood mesmerised when I saw MY MUSE as COLOURS OF RAINBOW SEVEN

Basking into the hues of yellow and orange DIVINE

I stood enchanted when I saw that RAINBOW was but MY MUSE SEVEN

Basking in the magic of the lord SUPREME

I stood speechless when I knew that  THE SUN GOD – The POWER of LIFE Himself is driven by THE HORSEPOWER.

Divine is the SUN’s Magic, Pristine is thy SOUL,

It is the SUN who POWERS WHOLE WORLD and

THE HORSE WHO POWERS THE SUN WHOLE

The most powerful and divine mantra in the world the GAYATRI MANTRA too is dedicated to the SUN GOD  – SAVITAR.

ॐ भूर् भुवः स्वः
तत् सवितुर्वरेण्यं
भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि
धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात्

“Every child is an artist.  The problem is how to remain ARTIST once you grow up”, said the legendary Pablo Picasso.

I am truly blessed that because of my muse by my side since childhood,                                I have been, I am and I remainAN ARTIST

I remain
