Prasanta Kumar Kolay (IN) Mindscapes

Prasanta Kumar Kolay explains the philosophy of his art:

All the creatures of this world are children of mother nature. We all share a very close relationship with nature from ancient times. No matter how we proceed in the way of technology the forces of nature are still awe-inspiring. Different colours, forms of nature never cease to amaze us. By nature every human being is unique. All of us see this world in our own ways. For all my artworks my motivation is nature in meditation. My mind’s eye sees nature in its own way and words are often incapable of describing those feelings but brushes and colours can. All my artworks represent the nature that is visual to my mind’s eye.

Prasanta Kumar Kolay

Prasanta Kumar Kolay is an India-based painter. In his abstract and geometric works, fueled by a persistent interest in Chinese pictorial language, Kolay looks to explore our relationships to nature in the contemporary world.  He writes, “The whole of life is an interaction with nature, external and internal. All make a heart learn to feel the greatness of Nature…to me at present paintings are abstract and words fail to express my feelings, but brushes and colours can.”
