7 – GARBAGE: especially in the most populous cities  / LIXO: especialmente nas cidades mais populosas

The increase of the urban population, generates a very consumerist society, which accumulates more and more urban solid waste in three categories: residential, industrial and hospital. In Brazil, a percentage of this waste goes to the “dumps” which damages the population, causing proliferation of diseases and also creates an impact on the environment with greenhouse effect and pollution of rivers and seas . Another way to dispose of waste is to incinerate, but it also produces gaseous pollutants.

It is necessary for society around the world, especially in large urban centers, to rethink exaggerated consumerism; think about what and what we really need and adopt a more efficient self-sustaining system.

In time of pandemic / Corona Virus, with the emptying of the cities, there is a reduction in the amount of garbage, which in a short time we could see an improvement in the atmosphere and the reappearance of several animals in urban areas and especially of birds on beaches and everywhere.

O aumento da população urbana, gera uma sociedade muito consumista, que acumula cada vez mais Resíduos Sólidos Urbanos em três categorias: residenciais, industriais e hospitalares. No Brasil, uma porcentagem desses resíduos vai para os “lixões” o que prejudica a população, causando proliferação de doenças e também cria impacto ao meio ambiente com efeito estufa e poluição dos rios e mares . Outra maneira de eliminar o lixo é incinerar, porém, produz gases poluentes também.

É necessário que a sociedade em todo o mundo, principalmente nos grandes centros urbanos, repense sobre o consumismo exagerado; pense no quê e do quê realmente precisamos e adote um sistema auto sustentável mais eficiente 

Em tempo de pandemia / Corona Vírus, com o esvaziamento das cidades, ouve uma redução na quantidade de lixo, que em pouco tempo pudemos ver uma melhora na atmosfera e o reaparecimento de diversos animais nas áreas urbanas e principalmente das aves nas praias e em todos os lugares.
