Spirit Is A Space For The Freedom by Ilia Symphocat

Ilia Symphocat: I continue to talk about the documentary project “Spirit Is A Space For The Freedom“, in which, in the collab with Scentia Sonorum Youtube channel, we capture the workshops of artists and musicians, members of the nonconformist community at the Pushkinskaya-10 Art Center. During the month we negotiated and visited artists’ workshops, knocked on new doors, listened to stories about each workshop, found ourselves in personal creative spaces, created panoramic photos and recorded the spatial sound of each visited space. It will be possible to learn the unique stories of each artist and musician, to hear a direct speech, later as part of the final virtual exhibition from all residents.

I think it’s important to identify some motivation that makes this project important to me. Since childhood, I have been connected with the artistic environment, often visiting the art studio of my father and his friends. Every time I crossed the threshold of these rooms, it seemed to me that you were in another, separate world, perhaps in another country or a fictional creative universe, depending on the preferences of the artist. In such places, it seems to me, the spirit of personal freedom lives for everyone, and it is important to see, feel, preserve, appreciate it…”

In this post I would like to share photos of several authors who took part in the documentary project:
