The world is going through hard times. The COVID-19 pandemic changed the way we live, work and interact. A large part of the international collaborations and exchanges had to be put on hold. In this situation the field of arts and culture with all its actors is under large pressure. Institutions worldwide are developing new tools and strategies for transferring their activities and programs online.
The SPAR virtual studio is our response to the current crisis and a local contribution to defending the cultural production during the shutdown period. Its aim is to create an informal virtual working space for the past and future participants of the St. Petersburg Art Residency program, many of whom cannot leave their homes right now.
We invite visual and performance artists, as well as researchers and curators to share their works and give an insight on the creative process taking place behind closed doors.
