Interview #11: Amalia Gil-Merino

Our guest of the next interview session is a Spanish and now German-based artist and sculptor Amalia Gil-Merino. Amalia studied in Paris and Berlin, where she graduated from the University of Fine Arts and Archaeology in Ancient Cultures. She also hold a diploma in sculpture from the L’Academia dell’Arte in Florence.

Her artworks immerse into contemporary myths and anthropomorphic metamorphic shapes. During her online residency at #VirtualSPAR Amalia exploded new spaces and contexts for her sculptures in an intuitive dialogue between the handmade and the natural.
